Rangeley, Maine . . . A new video presentation on the life and work of
famed
physician-scientist Wilhelm Reich is being greeted enthusiastically at the
Wilhelm Reich Museum in Rangeley. Written and directed by Kevin Hinchey,
MAN'S RIGHT TO KNOW is a 28 minute documentary that tells Reich's story
with
movie footage and photographs,
select quotations, visuals of his vibrant paintings and scientific
equipment. Computer animations illustrate basic concepts, such as the
scientific principles governing the orgone energy accumulator, an invention
so pivotal in Reich's work, so central to the ultimate tragedy of his
death,
and the subject of much slander and honest misunderstanding. Original music
by jazz pianist Andy Kahn and Reich's own voice in summation contibute to
the video's power.
