To me, Reich made two important discoveries : 1°] The function of orgasm (which from a strict materialist point of view has nothing to do with mystic finalism of reproduction, but which has for purpose to release organisms of an excedent of energy). O.K! You can tell me : "if you want to get less energy, you just can eat less food or having more sportive activity. But it doesn't work like that!
Orgasm takes off your old energy, that one which is stocked in the core of your organism. Suppose you get some yoghurts in your refrigerator. If each week, you eat the first row and you buy another one pack to remplace it, the ones which are staying in the back will get spoiled very quickly, even if you eat every day two or three rows of yoghurts instead of only one yoghurt a day!
Life energy concerned by orgasm corresponds in the comparison to the last row of the yoghurts in your refrigerator, the one you never touch if you only replace the first rows.
2°] The negative entropy of life energy. "Orgone" by itself has been discovered a long time ago by quasi every people of the planet. We could just accord to Reich the fact he gave to it its scientific dimension.
But I have also many critics to formulate against Reich. He was a good observer, but most of the time, his conclusions were slapdash, when they were not completly false. He recognized he was very impatient and he left to "others" to have conclusions about his discoveries or hypothesis. But, as the famous "others", or didn't recognize his discoveries, or did and venarated (and continue) to venerate him like he was a God, orgone science didn't make any progress in 70 years time!
First, I don't agree with Reich's notion of DOR. It's obvious, if we admit the negative entropy property of life energy, a field stronger of an living organism one will pump instead of feeding this organism. Thus, the "deadly orgone" notion to design the phenomenous is totally redundant.
Second, Reich seems to have missunderstood the notion of "DOR" (overcharge) with the lack of life energy that overcharge created around. So, the black clouds around Orgonon after the stupid Oranur experiment were not clouds of "DOR" but very poor in "orgone". So, Melanor might be what remained of normal composant of stone (what Reich in his langage called orite, and you're right he never examinated before Oranur experiment,) after the overcharge created by the radium needles inside his "orac". "brownite" might be a middle state between the two phenomenous.
Off course, all of that must be examinated scientifically, but it's difficult because people are or completly against Reich or totally for his theories, and every word Reich has pronunced is like a psalm! (look at DEMEO!)
